Night It Up

Photos from Night It Up 2011

The 10th annual Night It Up! night market started with a bang last night as crowds hungry for exotic Asian street eats descended on the grounds of the Markham Civic Centre. Always one of the GTA's most popular food festivals, Night It Up! seemed even larger this year with over a hundred food vendors and massive line-ups (that moved relatively quickly). But it was all worth it. From fresh takoyaki to smelly tofu, the cheap eats offered didn't disappoint. Other tasty finds include Hong-Kong style egg puffs, barbecue squid, Malaysian Style Murtabak, fried oyster pancakes, raw oysters from Diana's Seafood Delight, fried sugar coated chestnut, fresh coconut juice, Pineapple smoothies, Taiwanese shaved ice and fig jellied lemonade.

The two-day festival concludes today (Saturday, 12pm until 12:30am) with an outdoor screening of Ip Man 2 (9pm), an MMA sports section featuring Grant Brothers MMA and live communal painting. Check out photos from last night (below) plus an additional set on our Facebook page.
