The top 5 new late night eats in Toronto

Late night eats in Toronto continue to rise to the occasion. This collection of kitchens is there for the night owls, the after-bar crowd, and those working the late shift, and they're ready to satisfy hunger pangs with salty street food, BBQ, and full-on breakfasts.

Here are my picks for the top new late night eats in Toronto.

Kanpai
This Taiwanese snack bar is open daily from lunch until late serving up fried chicken, tater slaw, fried rice and steamed buns with an astounding variety of booze on tap including beers, cocktails, sake, wine, and even cold press coffee.

Old School
Soon to operate around the clock (24 hour service starts June 15), this diner and smokehouse serves up an array of hangover-crushing breakfasts and meaty masterpieces at all hours of the day.

Oh! Original Hot Dogs
Toronto loves its street meat, and this place knows it. The new after hours spot in the Annex operates until 4am Thursday through Saturday, and 1am otherwise. A second spot is already in the works for Liberty Village.

Mascot Brewery
Parked on a rooftop, a food truck services patio dwellers until last call at this brew pub in the Club District. The street food-centric menu bills burgers, brats, pretzels, ceviche, and oysters on the half shell.

Hanmoto
Open until last call nightly (excluding Sundays when they close), this establishment from Leemo Han of Oddseoul serves up cocktail-friendly foods. The menu offers choice snack foods like uni-bombs, oysters, and Dyno Wings - chicken wings stuffed like gyoza.
