Toronto Sextant Craft Brewery

Sextant is Toronto's newest craft brewery

It's easy to drink local in Toronto-area bars and restaurants thanks to the numerous entrepreneurial brewing enthusiasts who are building up our city's craft beer scene. Now, husband and wife team Dave Wingfelder and Cindy Eveline are joining the ranks with Sextant Craft Brewery.

Wingfelder and Eveline named their business after an old navigational tool, which explorers relied on during their travels.

"Just as old world explorers and navigators relied on their sextants and looked to the stars as set out on their journeys, Sextant Craft Brewery wants to take the Toronto beer drinker on their own adventure by exploring the 'New World' of premium craft beer," they write in a news release.

Sextant is currently a contract brewery that's serving up a Pale Ale - you can try it at the Cloak & Dagger on College Street. Eveline and Wingfeld hope to introduce a Blonde Ale and an India Session Ale some time this summer.

They're also planning to open up a 20 hectolitre brewery somewhere on Toronto's west side.
