The top 5 new fusion restaurants in Toronto

Toronto is filled with unique fusion restaurants. Some of the most famous ones include Rasta Pasta (Caribbean and Italian food) and the Hungary Thai, which are both located in Kensington Market. Delicious things can happen when different cuisines come together, so get ready to make your palate sing.

Here are my picks for the top new fusion restaurants in Toronto.

Eat BKK
This newly opened Thai restaurant serves up Bangkok-style street food with a western twist - think khao soi poutine and green curry chicken spaghetti. Cheese curds and coconut curry may not be the best pairing ever, but the spaghetti is apparently addicting.

The Fat Beet
Israeli and Indian food aren't often thought of in tandem. But they meet in the kitchen at Thornhill's The Fat Beet. Along with hearty meat dishes, Hemant Bhagwani's newest restaurant features lots of vegetarian options too.

Tito Ron's
It might be tiny, but Tito Ron's packs a ton of flavour into the food it doles out at its Kensington Market food stall. This Filipino-Caribbean joint is well-known for its purple ube sundaes, but don't miss items like tocino sliders on tennis rolls and chicken adobo roti.

Blowfish
Sushi burritos might be getting all the attention these, but this revamped sushi restaurant is now fusing Japanese and Brazilian flavours to create intriguing dishes, such as jalapeno hamachi and pineapple salmon makimono.

Teara Lab
Toronto's first Japanese burger joint is experimenting with flavour. Grab a tonkatsu pork burger, curry Japanese pork burger or a teppanyaki teriyaki chicken burger with a side of fries and a Ramune - a deliciously sweet Japanese soda.
