Here are some great places for pastries and desserts in Toronto by neighbourhood.

Annex

Those craving Vietnamese flavours in a new form should check out LA LA Bakeshop, where typical ingredients include durian and pork floss.

Avenue and Lawrence

There's no place better in this neighbourhood for cakes, pies and especially donuts than The Rolling Pin. Inventive flavours and impressive decoration skills abound.

Bayview and Leaside

The cutest creations can be found at Bomou in this area, where seasonal treats for holidays are always pretty and over the top.

Bloorcourt

People in this neighbourhood go wild for Bakerbots, which serves incredible cinnamon buns, cookies and pies. They even have ice cream sandwiches during the summer.

Corktown

The banana cream pie eclair at Roselle is something of a legend not just in this neighbourhood but across Toronto, and that's just the beginning of their showstopping pastry offerings.

Corso Italia

Tre Mari Bakery has all the cannoli you could ever wish for, and they're always coming up with new flavours. There are lots of other freshly baked treats to peruse as well.

Danforth East

This neighbourhood might be the only one in Toronto that's home to stacked donuts from Ampersand. The bakery also makes cakes, and is known for their fun decorations and colours.

Dundas West

Those in search of an excellent croissant or cruffin can head to Geste, where they're always inventing new ways to use buttery pastry.

East Chinatown

Some of the best butter tarts and pies in town can be found at Gerrard Street Bakery, where both the name and the baked goods are straight to the point.

East York

Stuffed scones and gourmet butter tarts are amazing at Rob's Good Food, where they always have lots of seasonal offerings when you need to pick up a dessert for a holiday gathering.

Cakes, pastries, dragees, ice cream, they have it all at Gouter. This family-run bakery may be small, but the flavours contained inside are mighty.

Etobicoke

The Happy Bakers make incredible pies in all kinds of varieties, and you can taste the happiness in each and every one of them.

Harbord Village

Emmer comes up with new and different ideas for baked goods all the time, and while they have a robust savoury program their sweet offerings are just as stunning.

Junction

Rois Cream is known for their macarons, which come in creative varieties like matcha, Earl Grey and creme brulee.

Koreatown

No trip to this neighbourhood is complete without a last stop at Hodo Kwaja to pick up some walnut cakes in red bean or mashed potato flavours, as well as other Korean desserts.

Leslieville

Sweet Bliss makes picture perfect cupcakes as well as cinnamon buns and other comforting baked items.

Little India

French restaurant and bake shop Le Conciliabule serves classics like sausage rolls, garlic knots, croissants, danishes and apple turnovers.

Little Italy

Barbershop Patisserie is making a name for itself with lovely baked goods like cakes and puff pastry items that are decorated to perfection.

Little Tokyo

If you're looking for a danish, croissant or full-sized cake with som serious whimsy, Butter Baker is where to go in this area. There's always a special seasonal flavour on offer for cake and soft serve.

Ossington

Nowhere in this neighbourhood makes more eye-popping desserts and pastries than Delysees, where techniques are as refined as any French shop.

Pape Village

Cafe Serano offers up Greek goodies like loukomades and all kinds of other delights inspired by the Mediterranean.

Parkdale 

A pastel de nata or a stuffed muffin makes a great treat from Bom Dia, which also sells savoury items like Portuguese patties. Great for a quick stop before hopping on the Queen streetcar.

Queen West

The pastry case at Nord Lyon tantalizes pedestrians walking along this street, filled with cakes, pastries, croissants, eclairs, meringues and macarons.

Regent Park

Le Beau's specialty is croissants that go way beyond the average butter and chocolate flavours and the usual crescent shapes.

Roncesvalles

Fantail is the go-to in this neighbourhood for all kinds of pastries, cookies and macarons. They also do savoury and healthy options, and make lots of what goes into their items from scratch.

West Queen West

Yonge & College

People are swearing by Le Genie for their pastries made fresh daily using local ingredients.

Yonge & Eglinton
