Toronto is sending its love to restaurant owner recognized by the Michelin Guide
Pho Tien Thanh just received their Michelin Bib Gourmand Award after the list was announced last year.
A photo of the owners Tuan and Lan Vo with their plaque has people in Toronto sharing their love for the Ossington pho institution.
I got to see the amazing Tuan + Lan with their well earned and deserved Michelin Recommended Award for Pho Tien Thanh at 57 Ossington Ave. This husband & wife duo have been serving up authentic Vietnamese cuisine for over 25 years! pic.twitter.com/tz3OR6wEj8

The award is given to restaurants that are the "best value for money" according to the official website.

The couple expressed that they "felt like they were dreaming" after receiving the award and that the community have been so good to them.
The award was actually not displayed inside when Marshall visited them to help them with their CafeTO application. At her suggestion, they decided to hang it on the wall for everyone to see.

Pho Tien Thanh doesn't have a website or social media account so people have been expressing their warm thoughts to Marshall via Twitter.
🥺❤️ We all made Tuan’s dream come true. This is his reaction when I told him over 100k people had seen the tweet and the 000s of likes. His restaurant was packed to the brim so far this week and he said so many people came in looking for the Michelin award. pic.twitter.com/X6Nflc4Vkc

"Money is important, but values are worth so much more like passion, kindness, helping others, and community," Tuan tells blogTO.
Pho is a real labour of love, and you can taste it here. Every day starts at 6:30 a.m. shopping for ingredients at wholesale and markets. By 8 a.m., Tuan is in the store.
The broth cooks for 6 hours every day using only natural ingredients and only Tuan and Lan know the recipe. They've been approached multiple times for the recipe with six-digit offers, but they told blogTO it's not for sale.
Tuan promises to put customers and the Ossington community first- keeping the restaurant open 364 days a year, so that there's always a place for people to eat. "Ossington is our home," Tuan says. They're only closed on New Year's Day.
