bom dia danforth

Toronto bakery known for its donuts and custard tarts opening new location

One of the best Portuguese bakeries in Toronto just announced that they'll soon be opening a second location.

Serving everything from fluffy donuts to freshly made sandwiches on buttery croissants and, of course, egg tarts, Parkdale bakery Bom Dia has garnered a devoted fanbase over the course of their relatively short time in business.

The Portuguese bakery has been helping locals have, as its name would suggest, a good morning, from their sunny Queen St. shop for the past four years — and now they're headed east.

After signage went up announcing a new location on Danforth "coming soon," buzz started building — and the bakery has finally confirmed that the rumours are true.

Bom Dia will be setting up shop at 389 Danforth, taking over the space that most recently housed Cafe Plenty.

While the exact opening date has yet to be determined — the team is hard at work putting together all the bells and whistles — Bom Dia confirms that the new location will be opening this fall.

In the meantime, you can get a taste of what's to come at Bom Dia's original Parkdale location at 1205 Queen West.
