A Toronto bar that was a hub for live music and has permanently closed after only two years.

Since 2022, Capone's Lounge has been a go-to watering home in Roncesvalles Village, known for their weekly live music performances and 1920's gangster-themed interiors.

The basement space had formerly been home to Bar Lykos, a Lithuanian pub before having new life breathed into it as it was transformed into the groovy underground bar.

It looks like the buzz was short-lived, however, as the bar suddenly announced through an Instagram post on July 14 that they had shut down for good.

"Sorry to inform everyone that we are permanently closed!!" the post reads, thanking the performers, team members and customers that supported them over the years.

The post offers little explanation behind the closure, but it did garner an immediate outpouring of support from heartbroken patrons.

"So sorry to hear you are closing! Thank for all the fun times at GNO," one person comments.

"Sorry to hear! Best of luck in your next journey," writes another.

blogTO reached out to Capone's Lounge for more information behind the closure, but did not hear back at the time of publication.

Capone's Lounge was previously located 1573 Bloor West.
