Saving Our Environment

Forum for Emerging Environmental Leaders Needs You

It's great to see people talking about sustainable energy and environmental protection these days. After all, it is a pressing issue that is affecting all of us. What needs to be done after all the talking, however, is to put projects and plans into action that will work to reduce the harm on our surrounding environments.

That's what the Forum for Emerging Environmental Leaders is hoping to do. Taking place on June 18 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the Forum is an initiative of the Young Environmental Professionals of Canada, and builds on the 2007 Environment and Energy Conference that will take place in Toronto, June 19-20.

While I'm quite excited to see what ideas are generated by the young people of Canada when it comes to protecting our environment, I'm more excited to see how those ideas are put into practice in the weeks following the Forum. Of course, instead of waiting to see what comes out of the Forum, it makes much more sense to participate and make a difference.

The deadline to apply to participate in the Forum is May 23, and applications can be downloaded from the web or obtained by emailing Forum Coordinator Amber Smith.
