Pony up for a good cause

This Thursday night, March 16th, the Revival (783 College) will be hosting a concert + fashion show to benefit the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre. Half the proceeds from the night will go directly to continuing the operations of the independently run, all-volunteer, community based women's support organization.

Featured bands are Galaxy (Toronto's answer to Sleater Kinney) and Pony Da Look (Toronto's answer to Nina Hagen on a week-long gothic bender). Between the bands' sets, Freedom Clothing (939 Bloor St. West) will host a fashion show featuring clothes for guys n gals from many of the 40+ local designers included at their shop. Freedom was the brainchild of former (and current) Ryerson fashion students, and has evolved over the last year and a half into a unique co-op style showcase for up & coming local designers.

DJ Fruff spins before and after, and promises a "sweaty dance party" to close out the night. Yeah baby.
