Black For All Occasions

Everyone always talks about the perfect "little black dress" and the quest to find one.

I must admit that despite my love for colour, there is something so sophisticated and alluring about that perfect black dress. But what is the perfect black dress? Some of my girlfriends swear on a simple black sheath, others on the sexy slip dress and for me, it's usually a vintage piece.

That's where the Little Black Dress Shop comes in. Inspired by such other one product stores in London and New York, the store only carries black dresses. Yes, you got it. ONLY black. Ms. Barrigar, the owner and designer of in store label, Quip is often inundated with queries such as, "What about a pink dress?"

Surprisingly, there is so much choice when it comes to finding the perfect black dress. The store carries an array of styles, from casual to black tie and is catered to all ages. Some of the choices include a great vintage cotton eyelet daydress by Momo, a sheer ruffle slip by Chulo Pony and the classic jersey sheath dress by Comrags. In addition to the dresses, the store carries everything else you might need to go with a black dress. Colourful wraps, chic bags and jewelry definitely inspire you to only want to wear black just to show off these goodies.

The store itself is so light and bright with gorgeous little quirks like the plastic, reindeer chandelier and the refurbished chaise lounge. You get the feeling like you're one of the lucky priviledged people who get invited to secret shopping parties.

Hidden alleyway just off of Tecumseth, Little Black Dress Shop is definitely a shopping experience not to be missed.

Little Black Dress Shop is located at 135 Tecumseth Street, Unit #7.
