Floral Frocks for Spring

Now that good weather has decided to grace us with its presence, it is time to pull our beloved spring clothes to the front of our closets. Say so-long to bundling up like the Michelin Man and hello to a new floral frock for spring. Look for ultra-lightweight fabrics for the perfect look and feel. The best fabrics for this season are chiffon, cotton, linen, silk, or, for a more youthful look, opt for a crinkly taffeta.

Floral dresses can be found anywhere from Isaac Mizrahi's current collection at Fairweather to stores and designers who are the antithesis of these corporate goldmines. My favourite frock so far is the "Sunshine" line by Wonderlust. Hannah Melville, the brains behind Wonderlust clothing, is based in Toronto and is participating in The Clothing Show this weekend. The "Sunshine" collection can be found at paper-doll clothing, the online portal for Canadian design items, for approximately $140.00. A little bit pricey but undoubtedly a classic piece for your collection.
