She's already 45 minutes late

The Wedding Show

I'm getting hitched in March this year to my significant other of 7 years. This means less time for video games, less belching, and way less Slipknot. There are a great many more pros that contrast with those three cons, but I'm just going to pass on giving out those details in favor of going to the 2007 edition of The Wedding Show at The Carlu this weekend. While it may be a little late for the uber-better half and myself to take complete advantage of all that's being offered, this is something that anyone tying the knot should check out, particularly those who are considering it but would like some explicit details before setting a date.

Details for the event lie after the jump.

Starting January 12th, 2007, and running until the 14th, the show plays host to anyone interested in all things wedding related. The sizable number of exhibitors on the floor means that patrons will be able to scope out the latest fashions, diamonds, catering options, and photography, talk to professional consultants, and have a gander at some outrageous wedding cakes. Special guests and highlights will include:

  • A presentation by Peggy Post, renowned wedding etiquette expert and author
  • The launch of My Wedding Dress, a collection of stories from various authors. Editors Susan Whelehan and Anne Laurel Carter will be on hand along with several contributing writers
  • Interior designer Tim Mather of TM Design, who is also co-sponsoring a contest in which a lucky couple can win his valuable services for their wedding for free
