Fashion Week Keeps Kay, Changes Name

While the web site still says L'Oreal, Toronto's twice annual fashion week is changing its name. Yesterday the Fashion Design Council of Canada announced that LG will be the new title sponsor. That means it's time to throw away the tents, all the signs and create a new online presence to usher in LG Fashion Week which, incidentally, will still be chaired by one of Toronto's most famous drunks - Robin Kay.

The announcement was made yesterday by Joe Fresh Style's (and FDCC Chair) Joe Mimram who told the Toronto Star "Robin clearly regrets what happened and has apologized and has strictly assured the board it will not occur again."

Reading between the lines, the takeway here is that Kay's chumminess with the board likely saved her job but she'll probably be on a short leash should she make any repeat stumbles in 2009.

I guess this would be another one of those situations where a little drunk dialing wouldn't be appropriate?
