Paper Dress

Paper Fashion

Last week was all about nonstop runway shows and events, photography, processing and uploading. I do have to say I am a bit wiped from it all, though it was a really great time.

But now that Fashion Week is over, I wanted to switch gears a bit and take a look at a young designer friend of mine who wanted to shoot a collection of paper dresses he made for a class. He explained the concept as: "a girl who lives in a store and makes her dresses out of things she finds."

The first place I thought to shoot this was The Drake General Store. Such a wide assortment of goodies and unique trinkets in there, the stuff of pure magic. The good people at the Drake were happy to help, so a very big thanks to Jenn and Joyce for making it happen. Also, big thanks to Chris Nevin for creating the dresses, Amy Harper for the makeup, my assistant Kira Crugnale and Ryan at Elmer Olson for arranging for the lovely model Ariana.

So after a week of antlers, fashion debates, hot men, super models, grocery store fashion and more, here is a girl wearing sheets of paper, held together with staples.

Take that Fashion Week.
