Office Makeover

Office Makeover, Toronto Edition

I wish I worked in an office like this. Soft Citizen, a film production company at 125 George St. near Richmond and Jarvis just got an office makeover at the hands of Jason MacIsaac and his team at Ministry of the Interior. It was MOTI's first interior design project and for inspiration they looked to Japanese installation artist Yoshitomo Nara.

Inside, the look is clearly MOTI. Anyone familiar with the lines they carry will recognize furniture, lighting and other design features from their showroom on Ossington. But they didn't just rely on their own stuff, and sourced furniture and reclaimed materials from Toronto area shops like Smash, Post & Beam Reclamation, the Queen West Antique Centre, Magic Pony and even eBay.

Budget for the entire job wasn't disclosed but Jason tells me it was well over $100K. For their next assignment, they'll be tackling an even bigger office makeover for a local advertising agency.
