Frugal Fashion Week's fabulous footwear finale

Have you ever wanted to design your very own pair of shoes? A handful of Toronto's arts community got the chance to craft their own footwear for the gala capping off Frugal Fashion Week, an annual celebration of budget-friendly shopping. Participants included designer Kendra Francis of Franke Clothing and splatter queen Ashley Rowe, fashion illustrator Danielle Meder, and chef Roger Mooking. (Even I got in on the action: I covered a hideous pair of white plastic cage heels with a charming Liberty print floral: fairly femme, yet fierce aussi!)

The reimagined Browns-donated heels and boots were auctioned off to raise funds for the new clothing bank Windfall, but not before being strutted down the BATA Shoe Museum's elegant staircase as part of a Baby Steinberg fashion show.

Check out some of the standout shoes below, along with our favourite pumps that graced the feet of the fabulous assembled.
