Craft Beer Discovery Pack

Toronto Gift Guide: Ontario Craft Beer Discovery Pack

It's day number 20 of my quest to find some of the best gifts in Toronto. Today's Pick: Ontario Craft Beer Discovery Pack - Holiday Edition. I'm not a beer connoisseur but I've swigged enough pints in my legal-drinking-age life to know what I like. And, while I hate messing with a good thing, I'm definitely willing to try new things, especially in low-risk formats like this. This locally-brewed mixer is a nice intro to beer tasting, with a helpful guide printed right on the box. In terms of gifting, a recipient is bound to find at least one new favourite in the bunch.

Consumables really are safe gifting options, because even if you miss the mark, food and booze can always be served to holiday guests (after you leave). I don't typically consider beer when mulling over boozy host gifts, but not everyone is necessarily a wine drinker. Bringing a two-four of Bud to a dinner party is probably a bad idea (depending on your friends, of course), but this six-pack of local craft beer has a leg up on a bottle of red. Dinner guests can sample the varieties and discuss favourites, making it a good conversation-starter. I'd recommend taster glasses, though. It is flu season, after all.

Additional Specs: Six bottles including: Flying Monkey's Netherworld Cascadian Dark Ale, Mill Street Coffee Porter, Elora Special Bitter, Old Credit Pale Pilsner, Niagara's Best Blonde Premium, and Wolfgang's Premium Lager.

Best for: The poor sucker stuck hosting family Christmas this year

What it'll cost you: $12.30

Where to get it: LCBO locations across the GTA
