Toronto's Distillery District has a large collection of Victorian-era Industrial buildings, which makes this pedestrian-only neighbourhood an ideal place to roam around in. And if you're truly in love with this romantic neighbourhood, you can bring a piece of it into your own home.

The Distillery District is now selling reclaimed Douglas Fir wood from the Gooderham and Worts rack houses. The distillery, which dates back to the 19th century, once used these rack houses to age its whisky.

Many of these houses have been restored, but there's lots of wood leftover, so now the Historic Building Projects is selling it off and repurposing it into items such as flooring, window frames and furniture.

Sales manager Rick Davies tells me via email that Gooderham and Worts brought the wood to Ontario via British Columbia. Pieces of furniture start at around $500 and go all the way up to $5,000 for an "exquisite" board room table.
