Goodwill re-opening in Toronto

There's finally hope for Goodwill in Toronto. As the Globe and Mail reports today, the Ontario Great Lakes arm of Goodwill Industries will takeover the former Toronto chapter, which also looked after eastern and northern Ontario.

The Ontario Great Lakes Goodwill, which is based in London and serves southwestern, Ontario will hopefully get services in Toronto underway some time next year.

When Goodwill stores re-open, they won't be in the same spots as they used to be. And, locations outside of the city might be up and running earlier because downtown real estate is expensive, writes the Globe.

The Toronto Goodwill shut down suddenly earlier this year due to a "cash flow crisis", leaving many staff out of job. The new Toronto chapter will be open to hiring back old staff. This time, it won't be unionized.
