Hot Doc: Liberia's Civil War

Next Wednesday January 12th at the Bloor Cinema, the excellent Hot Docs monthly film series presents the Canadian premiere of the award-winning documentary Liberia: An Uncivil War. The film was shot in Monrovia in the summer of 2003 and chronicles the battle between Liberia President Charles Taylor and the rebel Liberians United for Reconciliation and Democracy (LURD).

Admission is free for students or $10 for the rest of us. I am looking forward to getting a seat in the balcony and listening to director Jonathan Stack who will be in attendance to discuss the film.
