Ever since I realized the Academy Awards were on a month early this year (yes, they screen tomorrow night), I've been running in and out of Toronto theatres trying to see as many of the nominated films as I can.

Despite me best efforts, I still haven't seen Finding Neverland, Born Into Brothels or Being Julia. But I did catch two of Canada's nominees - Ryan (for short films animated) and Hardwood (for documentary short). Both these films screen for free at the NFB at the corner of Richmond and Spadina.

Now I just need to figure our where I'm going to watch the damn awards show. Today's Post has the goods on the screening at the Bloor Cinema.

Of course, with Oscars goes Oscar ballots. My picks this year, not surprisingly, include zero awards for Finding Neverland. But I do think Kate Winslet is going to steal the show and the award for Best Actress. My ballot:
