Since 11am this morning I've rushed my behind around town from screening to screening. I had my first meal of the day at 6pm ... and it was 2 bean burritos at Taco Bell which I took ToGo and ate in line. And while my stomach is currently digesting the fourth lining as the guy next to me hits on me, I'm enjoying that which is the open wireless network in Toronto.

And they say internet doesn't come for free.

I briefly debated whether it would be a good idea to lug around my Powerbook for the entire day, but ultimately I'm thankful I did. I was prepared to spend about $30 for the entire day of Hotspot wireless locations around the downtown area ... but there was this rumour circulating that you could actually hit an open wireless connection ... and I did.

While waiting in line for Linda Linda Linda, I just so happened to hit the open network in the Yorkville area and started live blogging my review of Three Times. After screening Linda Linda Linda, I finished the review while sitting inside the Varsity theatre waiting for The Quiet to commence ... and now, I'm currently sitting at the Indigo at the Manulife loving the free wireless connection in the cafe.

Nevermind eating ... it's all about the power of instant gratification ... I mean, you can't get anymore than instant in this case. I was also tempted to bring my iSight webcam attachment to record Q & A's, but I figured that would be too much and inconvienently bulky to set up and tear down, not to mention severely drain my battery.

Of course, in Yorkville, there is really one one very specific location you can hit the mother of connections. I believe it's the second last flowerbed right beside the entrance to Cumberland station. You laugh, but I am not joking because just a couple of steps away, sitting on the bench, there is no connection and well, you wouldn't be able to witness all 10 connections you computer just may pick up.

So now, I will make it my duty to reveal any open wireless connection I may come across as I roam this great city of ours, drink their coffee and use their internet connection for a limited time.
