Daddy knows best: Guy Ben-Ner at Cinecycle tonight

Israeli filmmaker Guy Ben-Ner visits Cinecycle tonight to present a canvas of his works since 1999, in a programme that Pleasure Dome (who is presenting the screening) has titled "Daddy Knows Best." Among the offerings are a 12-minute version of Moby Dick set entirely in the filmmaker's kitchen, and a flick (image on right) about Ben-Ner and his family visiting the park while dressed in homemade ostrich costumes.

If you're at all like me, this is somehow an irresistable opportunity.

Also screening is Wild Boy, another movie shot entirely in Ben-Ner's apartment (featuring a feral child and a mound of astroturf). Insanity or genius? Find out tonight at 8:00, at Cinecycle (129 Spadina Avenue, down the alley).
