Movieola Launches a Flashy New Website
The Toronto-based short film channel Movieola has just revamped their website. It's sleeker, more "web2.0-ish", and effectively uses Flash to deploy its vast collection of mini-movies. In fact, the quality of the streaming videos look and sound very good, fast and smooth, with none of the unwatchable choppy-ness we've come to expect and tolerate with streaming Flash. For filmmakers, the process of submitting your work hasn't changed, though, Movieola still requires you to send them a good ol' fashion tape so they can decide if it's worthy enough to be part of their library. That pretty much insures the site and channel are crap-free (this ain't YouTube, folks). The site also appears to be ready to launch a podcast soon, but as of writing this, it doesn't appear to be ready.
