While there is a lot to enjoy in the hundreds of movies screening at TIFF every year, one of the added bonuses of the festival is that it can inspire all sorts of other film related-events. Sometimes that means non-TIFF organizations putting together something cinephiles will love. Sometimes it means TIFF itself offering a different kind of event for film buffs.

Here are five can't miss events happening in Toronto during TIFF 2015.

A Conversation with Darren Aronofsky
He may not have a movie at TIFF, but critically acclaimed director, Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler, Black Swan, Requiem For a Dream), is nonetheless coming to Toronto's Koerner Hall for a special conversation about the importance of music in film - both in his own work, and those of others. September 10th, 9:00 PM.

Wenders in the Cities
With German filmmaker Wim Wender's latest film, Every Thing Will Be Fine, showing at TIFF, the Goethe Institute's special exhibition on the director is perfectly timed. The exhibition will not only feature unique items from the Wim Wenders archives, but also will be tied to screenings of six of Wender's films later in the month. Starts September 10th.

Jason Reitman's Live Read of The Princess Bride
For some time now, director Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air) has been regularly putting together live reads of famous movies, but recast with entirely different actors. Over the years he's done everything from The Breakfast Club to Ghostbusters to Boogie Nights. This year he's doing The Princess Bride with a cast he will be announcing via his Twitter account. September 12th, 6:00 PM.

Free Cineplex Screening of Rear Window
If the special TIFF screening of Vertigo , with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra playing the score, isn't enough Alfred Hitchcock for you, be sure to check out Cineplex's special free showing of Rear Window to celebrate the film's anniversary. The film remains one of Hitch's best, and is indisputably far more fun on the big screen. September 13th.

MEMORY Presents: Program No. 1
Over at The Royal Cinema, you can see a special series of award-winning and new short films from emerging filmmakers from all over North America. Several of the shorts come from filmmakers with features at TIFF 15, or the creative minds behind projects like Selma, Creep, Silicon Valley and more. Screenings are free, but you do have to RSVP in advance.
