As mourning continues over the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Toronto will be hosting a few events in order to commemorate her legacy including a memorial ceremony and National Days of Mourning.

Although Canada officially announced that Queen Elizabeth II's funeral is a federal holiday, Doug Ford has failed to recognize Monday, September 19 as a provincial holiday. Instead, Ford encourages all Ontarians to honour Her Majesty and pay tribute to her.

Toronto will be doing a few things to honour and commemorate Her Majesty including pausing service on the TTC for 96 seconds and a moment of silence at 1:00 p.m.

In order to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's reign and life, the Toronto International Film Festival will be hosting a screening of Elizabeth: A Portrait in Parts.

The documentary features archival footage and behind-the-scenes access into the life of the longest-reigning British monarch.

The screening of Elizabeth: A Portrait in Parts will be held at Scotiabank Theatre on September 18 at 12:05 p.m.
