Toronto creators have swiftly become the best at this hot TikTok trend

Toronto creators have caught wind of a recent TikTok trend and it's safe to say they've fallen in love with it.

Users across the app have taken a liking to Wes Anderson's video production style, filming themselves doing mundane tasks while focusing on shot symmetry and snap zooms.

Perhaps best known for The Grand Budapest Hotel, Anderson uses clips that come at you in short bursts. In addition to his love for bright colour and peculiar-looking actors, his film style gained notoriety as it had a bit of awkward, comedic value.

Creators in Toronto have been quick to jump on board and share a slice of Toronto life a la Wes Anderson.

Tre Mari Bakery on St. Clair posted its take on the Wes Anderson trend on Mother's Day, showcasing "an ordinary day with mom."

The AGO did their own take as well, making sure our eyes were fixated on a cherry red beret.

The trend doesn't just stop at local businesses. One creator applied Anderson's style to their trip to the Toronto Islands.

York United FC got so tired of scoring on the pitch that they wanted to try scoring off it. In their clip, they showed us what match day preparations looked like from Anderson's eyes.

Another local Tiktok creator wanted to add more pizzazz to their experience hunting for books.

Finally, Call It Spring took summer pastels to a whole other realm while filming day two of their pop-up in Trinity Bellwoods Park.

Shooting your own version of this trend can be super simple. Make sure to position yourself symmetrically, wear something fun, and don’t take yourself too seriously.
