You can watch free screenings of horror movies in Toronto all next month

This October, a theatre in the Distillery District normally used for plays will be opening its doors for four free Halloween-themed movies.

Yes, you read that right, free movies

For those looking to get into the spooky season without breaking the bank, look no further now. You can reserve spots through a website in order to obtain seats due to high demand.

The movie nights are coming courtesy of Soulpepper Theatre Company which operates out of the Yonge Centre for the Performing Arts in the Distillery District.

For this Halloween season, the community theatre will play a different "staff favourite" every Friday of the month, starting with the Stanley Kubrick masterpiece The Shining (1980).

The next movie in the lineup will be the American remake of the Austrian psychological-horror movie Funny Games (2007) starring Naomi Watts.

Up after that, you'll get the chance to watch the dark comedy Ready or Not (2019) starring Samara Weaving.

The final film featured is none other than Ari Aster’' most recent exercise in horror with Midsommar (2019) starring Oscar-nominated actress Florence Pugh.

All screenings will be held at the Younge Centre for the Performing Arts on October 4th, 11th, 18th & a final screening will be held on the 25th.
