Ten X Toronto
Ten X Toronto has marked its spot at Exhibition Place. As part of Hotel X Toronto, the luxury sports club is the largest hotel facility in Canada.
Encased in floor-to-ceiling glass, the concept of the athletic club is dramatic. The 90,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility boasts four indoor Deco Turf tennis courts, nine squash courts, terraces and outdoor spaces as well as an upcoming rooftop pool.
The hotel rises above Lakeshore Road, and the club’s rooftop terrace offers incredible views of the city.It is not an exaggeration to say the facility has everything. Orienting yourself here is a workout in itself. Its six floors are dedicated to indoor and outdoor sports, luxurious change rooms and fitness spaces for every kind of workout.Hot yoga? Check. Spin? Check. Pilates? Check. Check. Check. It doesn’t end there.
There’s a golf simulator room which can be booked by the hour, and finally, a juice bar with Schinoussa Nutrition. The sixth floor terrace will offer morning yoga overlooking the city. The club is catered to everyone’s specific workout needs. There’s a gym within the gym equipped with the latest weight and cardio machines from TechnoGym’s Artis Collection. For the kids, there’s a fully supervised 3,000 square foot Play Centre, and for the teens who just want to watch Netflix, there’s a separate youth lounge with ping pong tables, TVs, and a gaming centre.
CEO Gary Muller’s Ten X is big and bold, and serves as an ode to tennis. Muller, a former pro-tennis player is also the tennis director.
You can book a one-hour private session with Muller and Olympic tennis gold medallist, Daniel Nestor. Two courts are on the ground level, and two courts above that. Both have 50-foot ceilings.
You can play singles or doubles or just be a spectator of the sport. The athletic facility is open to members only, or an added perk as a guest of the equally luxurious 30-storey hotel tower.
