Whatever Happened To Master T?
Man...I miss that dude.
MuchMusic hasn't been the same (read:watchable) without him. As a VJ, Master T actually asked intelligent questions (what a concept!) whenever he interviewed artists. It was T who brought in artists from the community (be it music, art or whatever) to talk about their projects. It was T that ushered in urban music on heavy rotation. (Sure, now there's MuchVibe, but who can afford digital on a blogger's salary?)
Remember Roxie (the goofy talking synthesizer), T McGee and the crazy New Year's Eve dance? Master T's Xtendamix (later just Da Mix) was easily one show on Much that I would make sure to watch. Back when they would play underground hip hop, reggae and soul music -- stuff that wasn't on the charts yet.
(On a side note, what's up with craptastic MuchMusic shows like this and this? Bleh.)
I remember that when T left Much, it was rumoured that he was perhaps "gently" shown the door. I wouldn't doubt it. Did the old Google search and found his website, which apparently hasn't been updated since 2003. Last I heard, T was working on some music and multimedia projects.
Wherever you are Master T, I salute you.
