Find The Beat

Like an island breeze, Muhtadi's International Drumming Festival blows into town this weekend, bringing with it the flavours of the Caribbean and sounds from across the globe. The mulitcultural festival, now in its seventh year, starts at Harbourfront with a special concert Friday night ($15) and rounds out the weekend with free shows in Queen's Park all day Saturday and Sunday.

In the park you'll find a big stage set up where drummers share the rhythms of Brazil, Japan, India, Canada and Tobago, while all around the park smaller drumming circles start up and build momentum. Wander through the park until you find your own beat, or kick back and relax while enjoying some delicious island food, just let the wind take you there.
