Hot Ticket for the week of September 18 - 24

Tuesday, Sept. 19th - Hey, remember that band Sloan? The one we all love to hate but secretly love? Well they're back, and (in all honesty) better than ever, with the release of their new 30-song CD "Never Hear The End Of It", out Sept 19th. Tuesday night they will hold a small CD release party at Lula Lounge, and while this event is sold-out, blogTO will be there on your behalf. However, never fear - if you simply must be covered in coke fizz, here's a tip: Sloan will be playing their first (non-festival) Toronto-proper club show in 3 years, at the Koolhaus October 6th. -- Beth

Wednesday, Sept. 20th - No longer a hidden gem for only Brooklyn's live music pleasure, NYC's Asobi Seksu (Japanese slang for "playful sex") are in town for an intimate show, supported by local indie act These Electric Lives. Doors at 8pm, the Horseshoe (370 Queen Street West). $8.50. -- Jerrold

Friday, Sept. 22rd - They deliver fun, exuberance and plenty of class with their name - HOLY FUCK! are playing The Mod Club (722 College Street) on Friday the 22nd. Joining them will be electo/disco Canucks' Shout Out Out Out Out and Montreal's very own Land of Talk. If electronic/rock/danceable/experimental fusion is your thing, this is your show. Doors 8pm, $16.50 -- Garry
