The

Jack Dylan-a-thon @ Whipper Snapper, Drake Hotel

Montreal is our friend. Admit it. Don't shake your head "NO!" Don't look that way!!! They are our friend. It's Ottawa who we can't seem to stand (especially if you're a hockey fan).

Anyways, I only bring up Montreal for two reasons: 1) to soften you up and, 2) there's a plethora of music and art love coming here for the weekend and onwards: all of it starting on Saturday, November 18th!

First things first. Jack Dylan, fairly renowned and loved poster artist (and everything-else artist), is bringing his friends down the 401 to showcase some of his work and have them play some music. Dylan is having an opening party at the Whipper Snapper Gallery (587A College St.) alongside some music performances from Toronto's nu-mathy rock squad, Germans, and Montreal's solo easy-listening project, Miracle Fortress (Graham Van Pelt from Think About Life).

Jack Dylan's work will remain on the walls until December 1st.

Just south and slightly west of the Whipper Snapper Gallery, The Drake Hotel will be hosting the other half of the showcase. Pop Montreal will present to you Basia Bulat (recent signing to Rough Trade), original folk outfit turn't stadium rockers, The Adam Brown, and Montreal local newfound interest, Katie Moore. Advice? See all of these acts, especially Basia Bulat if you really like a sweet sound with great arrangements.
