Move On Up!

It's the first week of January and I'm still recovering from New Year's. My body is worn down from the extra nights out during the winter break and, now, all I really want to do is relax with friends, have a drink and listen to some good music.

Last night I took that prescription and headed to The Cloak & Dagger (394 College Street) for the monthly Move on Up!, hosted by DJ Anousheh.

Move on Up! is a perfect night to sit down, chill, and keep repeating to your friends that every song is so damn good!.

Although the sounds are labeled as Hot Buttered Soul & Thunderclap Reggae, music before 1980, DJ Anousheh told me that really the night is just about soul.

Brother DJ Islamabad was this month's guest DJ tasked to spice things up a little bit. And did he. If I only had a fraction of the record collection that these two have, I would be a happy man.

Move on Up! takes place the first Saturday of every month with DJ Anousheh and special guests at the Cloak & Dagger (College & Borden), 394 College Street. You can also find Visit DJ Islamabad at Slinky Music, 442 Queen Street West.
