M.A.N.D.Y. = Ear Candy This Friday at CiRCA

Berlin-based DJ duo M.A.N.D.Y. are leading the pack right now in the melodic techno/tech house genre. They have massive cross-over appeal as DJs because their minimal sets are filled with crisp beats and bass, but the tracks they like (and produce themselves) usually contain simple melodies that creep into ears from out of nowhere. That's what sets them apart for me, and I can't wait to see them at Randomland this Friday.

Philipp Jung and Patrick Bodmer met over 20 years ago on a tennis court near the German/French border. Reuniting again at age 25 during the big German house and techno boom of the early 90's, they started producing and releasing singles on various labels.

Slowly developing their sound over the years, M.A.N.D.Y. also co-founded one of today's hottest techno labels, Get Physical, with friends and fellow techno superstars Booka Shade. M.A.N.D.Y. are peaking all over the world now thanks to their DJ skills and a pile of amazing remixes for the likes of The Knife, Tiefschwarz, Royksopp and Fischerspooner. 12 of their best remixes were compiled last year and released as a full-length called 12 Great Remixes For 11 Great Artists. They have also released two popular mix CDs called At The Controls (2006) and Fabric 38 (2008).

Who wants to see M.A.N.D.Y. for free? The first reader to leave a comment below gets two free tickets to the party. Good luck!
