Wavelength wrapped up their tenth anniversary celebration on Sunday night after five spectacular concerts in as many nights. For the final concert of the festival, Wavelength returned to their home at the Garrison and brought along several special guests for the occasion.

The fifth and final night of WL500 featured Boars, Neck a.k.a. Christiana, Mean Red Spiders, The Barcelona Pavilion, Kids on TV, Owen Pallett, Thomas, The Hidden Cameras and plenty of special guests including Gentleman Reg and Kevin Drew.

Tickets could not be purchased in advance for the final Sunday night show in the PWYC series, though festival wristband holders were guaranteed admission. Fans were lined up outside the venue well in advance of the doors opening, with latecomers being denied entry by the time the first band hit the stage.

With a jubilant crowd, friendly bar staff and eight bands hitting the stage in less than six hours, the night made for the perfect ending to the weekly concert series. Several veterans of the local music scene reunited specially for the occasion, with even more special guests showing up to make for an incredible encore.

WL500 kicked things off at the Music Gallery on Wednesday with performances from Canaille, Deep Dark United, Pony Da Look, Evening Hymns and Bruce Peninsula.

Night two featured Professor Fingers, Diamond Rings, Fembots, The Russian Futurists, Cadence Weapon and Holy Fuck at Steamwhisle Brewery.

Night three saw Young Mother, Magic Cheezies, Laura Barrett, The Bicycles and From Fiction play Sneaky Dee's.

Saturday night went down at SPK (Polish Combatants Hall), and featured sets from Danger Bay, Picastro, DonnĂŠ Roberts, Rockets Red Glare (reunion) and Constantines performing their self-titled debut album cover to cover.

Attending each of the five concerts offered a great overview of the last decade in the local music scene, with almost all of the 25+ groups that hit the stage expressing their unending gratitude to Wavelength for their support, DIY ethic and the undeniable impact the project has had on the city of Toronto.
