Toronto Niall Horan fans lineup in the rain to see free concert

Purchasing tickets to witness your favourite artists perform live can be a downright headache, between profit-hungry scalpers, agonizingly long queues, and sky-high prices that will have you deciding between paying rent or living spontaneously.

Irish singer and songwriter Niall Horan has delightfully decided to bring his songs and talents to Toronto for free, in an open-to-public concert at Sugar Beach on Wednesday evening.

The 29-year-old musician first rose to prominence as one-fifth of the U.K. boy band, One Direction, and has since embarked on a successful solo career, dropping top-charting hits like "This Town" and "Slow Hands."

In promotion of his fourth studio album, "The Show," Horan announced that he would be playing a free performance at one of Toronto's most notable beaches.

The event, which is being hosted by Energy 95.3 and Universal Music Canada, was greeted with excitement by Horan's fans who were thrilled to witness the ex-One Directioner's musical abilities in person.

People were so ecstatic about the free performance that groups of loyal fans began camping out near Sugar Beach in the early hours of the morning.

Fans also proved that they were there to support Horan rain or shine, and arrived equipped with raincoats and umbrellas to battle the day's dreary weather.

Horan has several performances planned around the world the next few months, but none of the planned tour stops include cities in Canada, so if you don't want to miss your chance to see the Irish singer live, you might want to head down to the free concert as soon as possible.

Niall Horan will be performing on Wednesday, May 3 at 5:45 p.m. at Sugar Beach.
