Fake lake is actually $57,000

The feds want you to know that their G20/G8 Muskoka-esque "fake lake" will only cost $57,000, not $1.9 million as previously stated.

The entire Muskoka exhibit, complete with deck chairs, a dock, canoes, and TV screen will cost roughly $650,000. The price tag for the entire media centre, which will accommodate 3,000 journalists from around the world, is $1.9 million.

Most of the visiting journalists won't be able to attend the summit in Huntsville due to space and security restrictions. So the G20 fake lake is intended to give foreign reporters a taste of Muskoka, even though the lake is only 10cm deep and individuals are discouraged from christening the pond as they would an authentic Muskoka lagoon.

Critics should also take note that their outrage about this so-called "fake lake" is unwarranted, since it is actually a "reflecting pool," according to Federal Industry Minister Tony Clement. Furthermore, Evian doesn't come cheap; critics should crunch some numbers before they condemn the price tag of the pond.

Word hasn't yet been confirmed about the alleged swim-up bar, but rest assured, this fake lake will be full of loons.
