The Integrated Security Unit announced this morning that more than 900 bystanders people were arrested during the G20 summit. This represents the largest mass arrests in Canadian history.

The tally of arrests had reached just 32 before Saturday's riot struck, which left store windows broken, buildings vandalized, and four cop cars burning.

Jillian Van Acker of the Integrated Security Unit said some individuals are still being released from the Eastern Ave. detention centre today.

Toronto police Staff Supt. Jeff McGuire responded to allegations that Toronto police went too far yesterday, particularly at Queen Street and Spadina Avenue where riot cops boxed in hundreds of peaceful protesters for hours in the rain.

"We're not suggesting we are perfect, these decisions were made as best as we can at the time with the evidence that we have and things we're facing," he said.

In other words, "Er... uhh... I got nothing."
