Group to file UN complaint over G20 police action
Next stop for G20 complaints? The United Nations.
A group of Québécois who were arrested during the G20 protests last week met in Montréal Saturday to prepare a UN complaint. The meeting was organized by the League of Rights and Freedoms, which is helping participants prepare the file for the UN Human Rights Council.
Speaking to TVA news yesterday, lawyer Julius Grey called what he saw in Toronto last week evidence of a "totalitarian democracy." We live in a state less democratic than before, he said.
TVA news says similar meetings took place in other Canadian cities this weekend.
