Honda Indy to get a facelift
The Honda Indy is getting an upgrade as the federal government has decided to spend more money to build fences downtown. Scared yet?
Sorry, that's not funny.
Gary Goodyear, Minister of State responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), announced yesterday that the annual racing event at Exhibition Place will receive $772,000 from the federal government.
The money will be used for next year's 25th anniversary event, going towards new road barriers and fencing to improve safety for both drivers and spectators. The new fencing will also be more efficient to put up and take down, meaning less inconvenience for commuters.
This year's Indy will run from July 16 to 18.
