Jarvis bike lanes are good to go

The shiny new bike lanes on Jarvis Street were unveiled this morning as cyclists took their first rush hour rides during the morning commute.

The Toronto Star counted a few shy of 100 cyclists (poor, poor intern) using the curbside lanes between 8:15 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. Apparently there was a lot less confusion than last Monday.

Of course, along with the new lanes came sad, wailing violins, as drivers complained about the added congestion and cyclists lamented the bumpy road. These numbers, however, would suggest only one faction is justified in their whining.

Like it or not, the new lanes are now running from Charles Street south to Queen Street East.
