Joe Pantalone unveils "Sustainable Budget"

Yes, Joe "third-wheel" Pantalone is still revealing platform policies, despite the recent Ipsos-Reid poll which showed him badly trailing Rob Ford and George Smitherman.

Today Pantalone unveiled his "Sustainable Budget" plan for Toronto, which includes a 2.5 per cent residential property tax hike and 0.833 per cent commercial tax hike. Pantalone said the city is expecting a $180 million surplus this year due to lower-than-expected welfare rolls and revenues from the land transfer tax.

Pantalone also added that he will balance the city budget in 2011 without provincial assistance, to which he was asked how he plans to herd the pigs floating around the Toronto skyline.
