Tomas Kaberle traded to the Boston Bruins
Brian Burke continued his wheelin' and dealin' in advance of the February 28th NHL trade deadline by moving longtime Leaf Tomas Kaberle to the Boston Bruins in exchange for prospect Joe Colborne, the Bruins' first round pick in 2011 (not the one they received from us for Phil Kessel) and a conditional draft pick.
Kaberle has played his entire career in Toronto after being drafted 204th over all in the 1996 Entry Draft. Over his 12-year tenure with the team he became the second highest scoring defencemen, racking up 83 goals and 437 assists. It's sad to see him go, but with this trade Burke has acquired two first round draft picks, two prospects (Jake Gardiner and Joe Colborne) and NHLer Joffrey Lupul in the last two weeks.
