MUSIC | Gentleman Reg at the Horseshoe Tavern
Gentleman Reg has been an easily recognisable figure onstage in Toronto for years as a collaborator with some of the city's most respected musicians including Final Fantasy, The Hidden Cameras, Broken Social Scene, Jim Guthrie and the Constantines. Earlier this year, his debut album for Arts & Crafts "Jet Black" was released across North America, displaying his talent for writing warm, understated melodies and arrangements.

FILM | Open Screening Under the Stars
An opening screening for anyone willing to include a piece of experimental film, whether finished or unfinished, found or stolen, homemade or studio, new or old. Formats accepted include 16mm, 8mm, Super8, VHS, DVD and mini DV, to a maximum of ten minutes per clip.

SPORTS | Gore-Gore Rollergirls VS Death Track Dolls
All-girl Roller Derby, Toronto's favourite alterna-sport, continues with the as-yet-undefeated Gore-Gore Rollergirls up against the Death Track Dolls in a bloody battle which will tip the scales as to which teams will be competing in the championships this year.

PARTIES | Loving In The Name Of!
The aptly named Toronto supergroup The Best performs classic songs in a celebration of pop music's greatest performers, with well-known local artists such as Sebastien Grainger, Alex Lukashevsky and Allie Hughes taking on tunes by Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson and the Ronettes.

PARTIES | Everyone's a DJ
Everyone's a DJ features sixteen rookie and veteran DJs alike playing twenty-minute sets each. No experience is required, and anybody can request a set, regardless of their music preference.

It's Day 2 of Harbourfront's South Asian food festival featuring a range of regional cuisines plus song, dance and cinematic Bollywood classics. Today's highlights include a Golgappa eating competition (1:30PM), a dosa eating competition (3:30PM) and live musical performance by Rhythm Dhol Bass (9:30PM)

DANCE | Dancing in Cedarvale Ravine
The debut performance of "After the Rain", a new contemporary dance piece by ex-Torontonian Teoma Naccarato, with fellow dancers/collaborators Hannah Naiman and Anna Mayberry. Set in the scenic beauty of Cedarvale Ravine, the piece reflects the tranquility of nature and fond childhood memories.

MUSIC | Still Life Still / Kids on TV
Arts and Crafts & Blocks Recordings present Better Reasons Festival II, a benefit for SKETCH (encouraging poor or homeless youth to get involved in the arts) in conjunction with the Summerworks Festival, featuring performances from Toronto art-chaos-commandos Kids On TV and hotly tipped new Arts & Crafts signees Still Life Still.

MUSIC | The Sistahs Concert
Eight of the most powerful and prominent female African-Canadian singers in the country join together for two extraordinary concerts, celebrating several generations of multiculturalism and musical legacy. Performers include Molly Johnson, Jackie Richardson, Ada Lee, Divine Brown, Alana Bridgewater, Toya Alexis, Kellylee Evans and Shakura S'aida, directed by Young Centre Resident Artist Andrew Craig.

COMMUNITY | India Day Celebrations
India won back its' freedom from British rule on August 15th, 1947. This Sunday we pay tribute to the Indian culture that has emerged as one of the leading nations in the world, with a massive open-air festival of East Indian art, food, and music.
