Events on Toronto's Radar for MONDAY SEPTEMBER 14, 2009... lovingly handpicked from blogTO's events calendar.

LECTURE | Trampoline Hall
Trampoline Hall is a lecture series with a difference. Namely, the lecturers don't necessarily know what they're talking about. The event combines academia with theatre, and the only rule is that speakers can't be experts in the subject they're discussing, which makes for some amusing and unpredictable evenings. Tonight's topics: teenage circumcision, holy airport experiences, and Stairway to Heaven. Trampoline Hall has a huge cult following and often sells out, so get there early for a chance to grab rush tickets.
Sneaky Dee's, 259 College St., $5, 8 pm

PARTY | TIFF Party at the Social
No rest for the TIFFers as the festival kicks into its second week with a 4 am party at the Social. The regular Monday night Vicious party is going into overdrive, with DJ Crunch and Nasty Nav spinning tunes, and $2 drinks before 11:30 pm. Should be packed with filmerati incapable of spending a quiet night on the couch. Better call in sick on Tuesday.
The Social, 1100 Queen St. W., No Cover, 10 pm

FILM | Free Screening of The Informant
The theatre at U of T's Innis Town Hall is a world apart from the glitz and glamour of Yorkville, but it's hosting a free screening of an A-list TIFF movie tonight. The Informant! is the latest film from Steven Soderbergh, the man behind Traffic and Ocean's Eleven, and stars Matt Damon as an idiotic executive-turned government informant. The Cinema Studies Student Union will be giving out free passes tthis afternoon, but you'll have to check the event's Facebook page to find out where and when.
Innis Town Hall, 2 Sussex Ave., Free, 8 pm

DANCE | Thrill the World
You have to feel bad for the inmates of Cebu Provincial Detention Centre in the Philippines. Not only are they wasting away in prison, but now people everywhere are trying take away the one thing they have left: the pride of being the most famous people to recreate Michael Jackson's Thriller video on Youtube. Toronto-based group Thrill the World is looking to break the record for the largest performance of MJ's most famous dance routine with over 2000 Torontonians taking to the streets on October 24th. You've really got to know the moves though, so grab your red leather jacket and come down to practice tonight.
Wycliffe College, 5 Hoskin Ave., Free, 7:15 pm

FILM | Cairo Time Q&A
Cairo Time is one of the many films premiering at TIFF, and tells the story of a brief Egyptian love affair. The stars of the film Patricia Clarkson--who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in 2003's Pieces of April--and Alexander Siddig--who you'll recognize as the guy who played the holographic doctor on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine--join Montreal writer/director Ruba Nadda for a Q&A today.
Indigo Books, 55 Bloor St. W., Free, 7 pm

COMEDY | Peter Morley: This Is It
Peter Morley may or may not be a funny guy, it depends on what night you catch him. That's the nature and the beauty of improv comedy. Morley's a pretty good bet though, and in Australia he's known as Melbourne's king of improv. Having already moved from Oz to Canada, after tonight's show he's headed to LA, presumably to follow in the footsteps of so many other aspiring Hollywood stars. Seeing as it's his last Toronto show for awhile, the Second City student should make it a good one.
Comedy Bar, 945 Bloor St. W., $10, 8 pm
