EXHIBITION | Last Day at the CNE
Well, here's proof that summer is officially over for Toronto, as today the CNE shuts its gates for another year. The Ex is always packed on Labour Day with visitors and locals alike getting a final taste of the season. Highlights of the final day include the Canadian International Air Show's grand finale, and the city's Labour Day parade. Gates close at 5 pm, but they won't kick you out til 10 pm.

COMMUNITY | Brazilian Day Canada
Samba through the square this Labour Day as part of Brazilian Day, a celebration of the South American country's music, dance, and food. This is the first Brazilian Day in Toronto, but it's already a huge event in New York City where it attracts 1.5 million people. Brazilian superstars Carlinhos Brown and Elba Ramalho (known as the Brazilian Tina Turner) will be performing, as well as local Brazilian-Canadian talent Batucada Carioca.

MUSIC| Beaches Bluesfest
The Beaches Bluesfest has been held for the past 10 years in Toronto, but has had trouble finding a permanent home. This year it's settled in the magnificent space at the Berkeley Church. The one hundred and twenty-year old building is an amazing two-storey venue with soaring ceilings, and will be filled to the rafters all day with Toronto blues bands.

COMEDY | Bogmouth Monday
A new bi-weekly comedy night is launched tonight at Clinton's, which is hoping to grab some of the audience from the Comedy Bar a couple of blocks to the West. Hosted by up-and-coming comic James Kersley, a load of talent is on the bill performing sketch comedy. No cover: the first one's free.

GAMES NIGHT| Scrabble in the City
Here's one for all you word nerds out there: a chance to match your commodious vocabulary against articulate adversaries in a game of Scrabble. Bring some friends or join some friendly strangers and enjoy a few games over some drinks. Special prizes awarded for Labour Day-themed words.

COMMUNITY | Promise Cherry Beach Afternoon Sound System
Cherry Beach will be filled with friends and friends of friends today as Promise throws the last Afternoon Soundsystem party of the Summer. The Cherry Beach parties have a fun lazy Sunday vibe, with people throwing frisbees, lighting bonfires and playing with dogs. There will also some great music from local DJs, spinning tunes until the sun goes down.

FOOD | Hot and Spicy Food Festival
There's plenty to do at the Harbourfront Centre's Spicy Food Festival. Some of the city's top chefs will be cooking up 10 Foods To Try Before You Die, there'll be a Red Hot Marketplace where you can purchase some of the world's hottest spices, and Circus Alchemy will be performing some flammable circus acts. In perhaps the hottest event of all, three fire fighter models from the Toronto Fire Fighter Calendar will turn chef and fire up the grill. Some highlights on the menu: mini tuna wasabi burgers, spicy hot tamale, and curry chicken poutine.
