THEATRE | The Laramie Project
In 1998, a gay university student named Matthew Shepard was beaten and left to die in the town of Laramie, Wyoming. His murder grabbed international headlines and showed that hate crimes against gay people were still alive and well in America. Soon after, a group of playwrights traveled to Laramie and interviewed townspeople about the crime, and converted the results into a play called the Laramie Project. Tonight The Laramie Project: Ten Years After will be performed in over 120 cities, picking up where the original left off by examining the lingering effect Shepard's death has had on the town. One night only.

MUSIC | Mika at the Sound Academy
Awww, Mika's so cute. Or, depending on your point of view, so incredibly annoying. He's the dude who has released such life-affirming singles as Big Girl (You Are Beautiful), but his back story is a lot less fluffy than his music. Born in Beirut, Mika lived through his father being taken hostage and constant relocation until he landed in England and began using music as an emotional outlet. Carrying the torch first lit by Elton John and Queen, Mika brings his up beat operatic sound to the Sound Academy tonight.

EXHIBITION | Body World's and the Story of the Heart
The Ontario Science Centre is one of the few attractions in the city still open this holiday Monday, which gives you a chance to see the creepy but totally amazing Body Worlds exhibition. You've probably seen photos of the world-famous exhibition: it's basically corpses without any skin and preserved in plastic. This latest incarnation of the show focuses on the heart, which means these corpses are not only skinless but have their chests flared open. Seriously though, it's pretty cool.

ZOO | Sharks at Stingray Bay
What better way to spend the holiday Monday than at the Toronto Zoo, which keeps its gates open this Thanksgiving. Today's your last chance to see the Zoo's hands-on shark exhibit, which allows visitors to come face to face with several varieties of Jaws Jr. Metre-long nurse sharks and bamboo sharks are on display in a shallow tank and are friendly enough to allow patrons to pet them.

PARTY | Foulhouse at the Social
The Social continues to prove that it has no regard for what day of the week it is with another late night Monday dance party. This one features the Foulhouse djs, who've made a bit of a splash with their remix of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's Heads Will Roll. As always, there are $2.00 drinks before 11:30 pm, so come drink away memories of that horrible Thanksgiving family dinner.
