Weekend events in (and around) Toronto will have you camping out when Wayhome kicks off. The event will bring big names like Sam Smith and Kendrick Lamar just beyond the GTA. If you're not looking to brave the traffic and ticket cost of the music fest, stay in the city and attend one of the many free events like PANAMANIA or the Beaches Jazz Festival.

PAN AM GAMES

PANAMANIA (July 10-26, August 7-12)
As the Pan Am Games begin to wrap, you can still check out lots of Panamania programming. You'll be able to see acts like Calle 13, Eva Avila, tons of world music artists and lots more -- all for free at Nathan Phillips Square and the CIBC PanAm Park. Check the schedule and show up early.

Pan Am Closing Ceremonies (July 26th)
The Pan Am games are coming to a close and with that comes a big show. Serena Ryder, Pitbull and Yeezy are headlining, so expect some good music and potential controversy. Can't make it inside? The CN Tower will be lit up with fireworks again, so get your camera ready.

FESTIVALS

Beaches Jazz Fest (July 10-26)
It's the last weekend for the Beaches Jazz Fest. Head to Queen East for performances by the Boom Booms, Larry McCray, The Walkervilles, and the Lula All Stars amongst others.

UNITY Festival (July 22-25)
The 7th annual UNITY Festival will bring beatboxers, musicians and MC's to the city for the ultimate hip hop event. Look forward to a stellar lineup, featuring headliners GZA, Babeli Marlon from Havikoro crew.

Flaunt Festival (July 24-26)
Flaunt Festival is a weekend long event featuring a number of live shows and artistic performances. Head to the Harbourfront Centre to see Allie X, Illumination Nation, Tynomi Banks, and more perform.

Toronto's Festival of Beer(July 24-26)
Featuring over 300 different brands of beer that run the gamut from small, local outfits like Junction Craft and Left Field to purveyors of mass-produced industrial lager like Miller Lite and Budweiser, for better of for worse, TFOB has it all. Find interesting craft offerings among the "beer girls," fizzy lagers, and pseudo craft schlock and expect thousands of beer drinkers gathering to party.

Wayhome (July 24-26)
One of the year's most hyped music festivals is finally here. Neil Young, Sam Smith and Kendrick Lamar top the bill of over 70 acts spread over three days. Leave the city early to avoid the mass exodus to Oro.

Night it Up (July 24-26)
Admission is free for this Asian night market, happening July 24 to 26 at the Markham Civic Centre. The three-day food festival boasts 120 vendors, a spectacular stage line-up, and ticketed attractions like the Paint-A-Thon.

MOVIES

TIFF in Your Park: Breakup Buddies (July 24)
TIFF in Your Park is now in full swing. On tap this Friday is Breakup Buddies, a Chinese film about two friends hitting the road after one goes through a messy divorce.

Movie Night: Pitch Perfect (July 24)
If you prefer musical rom-coms, Liberty Village Park is hosting a screening of the ultimate chick flick: Pitch Perfect. The best part? It's free, so you can save your money for movie snacks and beverages.

DOORS at 6pm: TIFF and Wavelength (July 24)
Not in the mood for a feature length film? TIFF and Wavelength are showing Canadian short films this Friday at the Gardiner Museum. There will also be live music after the screenings provided by Toronto-based band Fresh Snow.

TAIS Animation Showcase (July 25)

Younger Than BeyoncĂŠ Gallery Grand Opening (July 24)
The YTB Gallery is hosting their Grand opening this Friday on Dundas East. You'll find it filled with the work of 8 emerging local artists, including Rouzbeh Akhbari, Lido Pimienta, and more.

Toronto Vintage Bicycle Show (July 26)
Want to spend your weekend scoping out some old-school two-wheelers? The Toronto Vintage Bicycle Show gives you that opportunity for free. Head to Trinity Bellwoods park to chat with other bike-enthusiasts.

FIGMENT Toronto (July 25-26)
Olympic Island will be taken over by FIGMENT this Friday and Saturday. The event offers a bevy of events to take part in, dancing, meditation, art, music - you name it, it'll be there. You can also look forward to the Circus Exhibition happening Friday evening. The best part? It's 100% free.

MARKETS

The Bellwoods Flea (July 25)
This Saturday, the Bellwoods Flea will feature its regular roster of art, fashion, food and more. As per usual, there will be live music performances and cocktails available on the scene. Entry is free and you can bring your dog.

PS Kensington (July 26)
Head to Kensington Market for Pedestrian Sundays throughout the summer (happening the last Sunday of the month from May to October). You'll find a host of street performers, food on sticks, and the Kensington's Art Fair, which has returned for a second year.
